Rosa Amato currently serves as principal of The Children's School located in Brooklyn, NY. This is her sixth year serving as principal. Prior to becoming principal, Rosa served as the school's assistant principal for over 10 years. Rosa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from St. John's University, a Master's Degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education from Adelphi University and a Professional Degree in School Leadership and Building Administration from St. John's University. Rosa began her career in New York as a paraprofessional and worked her way through school to become a special education teacher. Rosa is passionate about empowering her staff by supporting their individual strengths as they take on leadership responsibilities. In her free time, Rosa enjoys running and spending time with her husband, Ken and her two daughters, Joanna and Isabella Sofia.

Frank Ammirata, Ally

Assistant Principal
P.S. 372 - The Children's School

Brooklyn, NY

Frank Ammirata has been an Assistant Principal at The Children's School since 2019 working with students receiving supports in Integrative Co-Teaching classrooms, as well as self-contained settings. Frank started his teaching career as a SETSS Provider for District 75 integrating students with significant disabilities into general education classrooms with supports. He then worked as an Instructional Coach for the District 75 Office of Inclusive Education providing professional learning opportunities to school communities and working directly with teachers and students in inclusive settings. He has also worked for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Barnard College, both in the area of accessibility. Frank holds a B.A. from Binghamton University with a double major in Psychology and Music and an M.A. from Teachers College with a focus on teaching students with learning disabilities and inclusion. He received his School Building and District Leadership certifications from Hunter College. Frank enjoys music, theater, the arts and baking. He is always excited to learn something new and to discuss a Real Housewives Reunion.
