Dr. Sergio Caceres is the Principal of PS/IS 218, a K-8 Dual Language School in the South Bronx, New York City since 2014.  In the same school, he served as the assistant principal for five years.  Before becoming a school administrator, he taught 8th grade Honors English Language Arts and Social Studies for six years in an academy he helped found. In his spare time, he mentors middle and high school students of the Eagle Academy Foundation Mentoring Program. Dr. Caceres holds a Doctorate in Administration & Supervision, Urban Educational Leadership from Fordham University, an MS.Ed. in Leadership for Educational Change/School Supervision Administration from the Bank Street of Education, and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy & Religious Studies from Hunter College. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lehman College, CUNY, Early Childhood Education Department. Together with a team of outstanding and creative teachers at PS/IS 218, Dr. Caceres is committed to providing families with a caring, robust and biliterate education for a lifetime of learning. His passion is to improve teaching and learning at both PS/IS 218 and the Early Childhood Education Department at Lehman College promoting equity, social justice, diversity in the classroom, and teacher collaboration.

Ken Johnson is a 20 year veteran of New York City Public Schools. He is a graduate of Teachers College and has worked as a reading specialist for students in the Bronx. Ken serves as a lead teacher in his school by training fellow staff on how to incorporate social emotional learning activities in class. He also supports fellow teachers in using the i-Ready online reading and math program with their students. Ken is very passionate about helping students in marginalized communities excel in their academic pursuits. He believes culturally responsive teaching is a powerful tool to help close the achievement gap. He is a lover of foreign languages and studied Spanish in Costa Rica as an undergraduate. Additionally, he spent a summer in Japan as a teacher of ESL. In his spare time, Ken enjoys biking and exercising.
