Jeff Dase was a member of the thirteenth Cahn Fellows cohort in 2015 as Principal of Edward Coles Language Academy in Chicago, IL. Jeff has been committed to the students and communities of Illinois since 1998 as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, Chief of Schools, Operations Manager, and Assistant Superintendent. As Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for DPS, Mr. Dase directs and supervises all functions related to student learning and curriculum; budgets for curriculum, instruction, assessment and staff development; administers all functions relative to federal and state grants and titles; and develops, organizes, and manages the day-to-day operations of the District’s educational program.

Mr. Dase has an EdS in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University, a M.A. in General Administration from Chicago State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Chicago State University. He has also completed a Leadership Academy for aspiring leaders at Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, along with several superintendent preparation academies, including NABSE and ISPA.
