Project Description

Terence Joseph, Fellow

Renaissance Charter High School for Innovation

The Bronx, NY

As the son of immigrants from Trinidad, who flourished in careers of social service - nursing and law enforcement, Terence Joseph quickly realized his inherited calling was to spend his career serving communities in need. After his tenure at Teachers College, he shaped minds and was shaped by the students of his high school’s ELA courses in Wings Academy and Bronx Prep Charter School. He realized that the best way to increase his impact was to impact other teachers, doing so by seeking out leadership roles to develop staff and lead teams, first as a new teacher developer, then as a grade team leader. He finally transitioned into leadership as Director of Teaching and Learning and later the Principal of the Renaissance Charter High School for Innovation, where he currently serves.
