Project Description
Jonathan Levin, Fellow
The Clinton School
Manhattan, NY
Jonathan Levin has been the Principal of The Clinton School since 2011. During that time Clinton expanded from a themed middle school focused on the arts and writing to a 6-12th grade school, focused on the International Baccalaureate Programme. Clinton is now an International Baccalaureate World School, offering a true "IB for All" model to all students. During the last year Report Cards were issued, The Clinton School was the number one ranked school in New York City. Prior to his Principalship, Jonathan was an Assistant Principal at MS 131, serving families in Chinatown and the Lower East Side. He began his career in 2001, at Greenwich Village Middle School, teaching Social Studies and English. As a third generation NYC educator, and a product of the public school system, he knows the power of education. He believes that the key to a successful school is partnering with stakeholders at every turn, and creating a learning organization that can adapt to meet any challenge. A strong believer in frequent communication, he uses "Letter from Levin," a weekly email, to connect with families and staff.
