Rachel Payne served as principal of Marie L. Greenwood Academy, a K-8 school in the Denver Public Schools, from 2012-2018 and was recently promoted to Operational Superintendent. Building strong teams and leveraging teacher leadership and collaboration to achieve desired student results has been her focus. Rachel has served in various roles in the Denver Public Schools including; teacher, facilitator, gifted specialist, district math and science partner, and assistant principal. Rachel received her B.S. in Elementary Education and M.A. in School Administration from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For her work with the school instructional leadership team, Rachel has received the DPS Teacher Leadership & Collaboration Award.
