Heather Stewart was the Principal of Montview Elementary School in Aurora, Colorado during her Cahn Fellowship with the 2020-2021 cohort. Heather has over 20 years of experience as a teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal to the community. She began her career as a Kindergarten teacher in Indianapolis, Indiana. Heather has also supported the APS Leadership Development team by mentoring new principals and supporting aspiring leaders through the LEAD in APS Foundations program.
Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in English with an Emphasis in Elementary Education from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver.
In her free time, Heather enjoys reading, listening to music, spending time with her family, and traveling with her daughter, Sophia.
In 2022, Heather was promoted to Learning Community Director.

Hannah LeCount is the Assistant Principal of Montview Elementary, located in Aurora, Colorado. She joined Aurora Public Schools in July of 2019, after many years teaching and coaching in Englewood, Colorado. Hannah began her teaching career in Massachusetts, where she attended Boston University for graduate school.
As the Assistant Principal of Montview, she is committed to ensuring teachers have the appropriate support and knowledge to create equitable and rigorous learning experiences for every student in her building. She has worked to transform the school culture into an inquiry-based, collaborative, structured and supportive one. Her ultimate goal is that the Montview students and families develop the skills, knowledge and experiences they need to design the futures they desire. Rigorous and meaningful learning experiences have been at the heart of her work throughout her past seventeen years in education. She is committed to serving low-income youth, English Language learners, students of color, newcomers to our country, and other underrepresented students.
